EXECUTIVE & MANAGEMENT COACHING

Since 2002 we have have been coaching executives and managers from within healthcare and the not-for-profit sector. In general coaching is sought when all other attempts to solve a problem have failed. Coaching can help people reframe their perspectives, look at things differently, reexamine potential solutions and set goals for achievement. Along the way managers develop their leadership behaviours and management competencies.

Our coaching model and practice is based upon two coaching frameworks:

  1. a cognitive-behavioural framework developed at the University of NSW Coaching Psychology Department

  2. an ontological approach is based upon the research of biologist Humberto Maturana, and others showing that we are limited by our perceptions and 'constructed realities'.

This model recognises the relationship between a persons' environment or situation, their thoughts, emotions and behaviours. While primarily a cognitive-behaviour based model of coaching we also introduce an ontological approach to gaining understanding about ourselves through reflection and self-directed adult learning principles.

We offer coaching to two groups, these are:

  • Senior Executives
  • Frontline Managers

Executive coaching. Research indicates the difference between a successful senior executive and one that is less effective is in how they behave towards others. Added to that is your ability to receive feedback from a variety of stakeholders, reflect upon the feedback and change how you behave. The outcome is improved leadership - people want to work with you in a collaborative, positive manner. Executive coaching requires referral from your CEO.  We work intensively with you over a period of 12-18 months, guiding you, as you put in place a process for eliminating those behaviors that are a barrier to your future success. Regular feedback during the process provides you with the means to monitor your effectiveness. Download information kit here.

Management coaching helps frontline managers develop effective management strategies and competencies and helps prepare fontline managers for more senior management roles. This program takes place over 6-10 months. The key criteria for successful management coaching is the ability of the manager to receive feedback, reflect, accept a need to change and to set goals for change. As with any coaching there are no pre-set goals and outcomes. You are the one to choose the outcome you want to achieve - based upon the feedback provided by your colleagues.
